Definitely looks like the green is better.

Did you take any before shots for comparison? Or if you have one of the green coral that was taken at about the same angle as the one above it would be cool to see them side by side.

LOL me too. I'm still waiting on parts and can't decide on a controller. Your colors are looking great BTW. Sorry I forgot to mention that in the earlier post.

I have been dying to try this but just have been scared of DIY leds... I'm about to just take the plunge and build a 60x1.1" heatsink with about 12 UV leds (4per 2x2 area) and 6-9 Red leds and 3 green leds.

All my lighting measures about 60" across anyhow. I'm just worried about it mixing with my AI's.

Oh, Grim, we'll walk you through it! 60x1.1" heatsink, that would kick ass!! I just saw the light mod on your thread, it looks amazing. I dont see problem mixing with the AIs, even though I dont have any experience with red LEDs. If you're really worried them too overpowering, you can run reds on a dimmable driver.

From what I have read you might want to consider using the same number of red and green LEDs to balance each other out. Maybe even cluster them together in pairs.

Makes sense.. I also though about running all three on separate dimmers. Just in case... I need to do a lot more homework before I feel comfortable.

The UV (well... true violet) draws me the most. I love that deep purple look and have been convinced for a long time that LED fixtures are lacking in a deeper NM. I also feel like I'm lacking in a red spectrum.

I can run with my current parts laying around 4 KZ figi purple t5ho, my 5 ai Sol blues and then add a strip of just the UV (pull the vhos) and get some pretty crazy color and alot of options with the ability to swap bulbs in the t5s... But I'll still have all that extra light thrown into the room... (from the t5s... the vhos are so visually distracting from the light in the room that it looks better with them off)

I have been A LOT more happy overall with just my AI since I organized them in a straight line and added my 5th one back. Colors have been coming out like crazy with the extra par and more even distribution of light.
