Sorry to jump in so late, but I just got a 48 kit from rapid, 28 blues and 20 cw with 60 optics. I was going to add 24 lights to the setup over my new 92 gal corner tank. any thoughts on mixing up the colors. I would like to add uv and maybe red. Any feed back is greatly appreciated as this is my first led build.
    Thanks.

Ok it's from my 90 build thread, but here are some pics.

10/14/2011 this is the day the green Nobilis came to my tank. It was under T5s in my friend's tank.

I cant say it's 100% because of UVs and 420nm, but Im happy with the result so far.

I'd say it is a combination of a lot of factors...overall lighting, stable params, added spectrum, etc.

I noticed different colors coming out in my established coral once I added just the UV spectrum.

You have every reason to be. That's pretty good growth in a short time. FoD is probably right by saying it's the combination of everything but I'm happy to see that kind of growth with just LED being used period.

I have AI Sol's on the hanging kit and I'd hate to mess up the clean look of the lights. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to add UV in a way that looks professional?

I tried ecoxotic stunner strips and 4 of them made no difference at all.

Thanks for the help and the patience with the partial hijack.

Is that a blue polyp digitata in the pic above? If so, has UV done anything to its polyp color?

I just added 12 uv's(violets) to my 48 rapidled kit, with 90 degree optics from ebay. And also added 4 blues, and took out 8 rb's and added 8 blues. Obviously too soon to tell about growth, but the colors def sharpened up and a lot more came out!

You said 28 blues, they are royal blues, correct? If you are looking into adding that many to the existing fixture, Id add regular blue, UV, 420nm, neutral white.

You might wanna start a fresh thread so youd get more traffic :) But just like Alex (ingtar_shinowa) said, long and sleek heatsinks on each side is what I would do.
The digi is a good ol' boring brown digitata. No blue or changes from UV..

Just bit the bullet and bought 28 420nm and 14 XML warm white(3000 kelvin) to install on a 1.1" x 60" heatsink!
