If you have the UV then I would use it, no need for it during the early stages, but put it on line without plugging it in, until you start stocking the tank IMO

    Skimmer
many people go with skimmers rated higher than their tank size
I have a skimmer rated for 100 gallons on my 70
other people would go even higher

thus IMHO , the skimmer will be fine

+1 if you got it might as well at least plumb it in or at least plumb in some fittings & a spacer to put it in later if you want.

Alot of people generallt recommend a skimmer 1 1/2 to 2 times the gallon of the tank but I think thats just in case you get a large bio-load some of us new reefers tend to do. My skimmer is a 75 on a 75 w/ 20 sump but I also run a algae scrubber so its kinda dual supplimentary filtering.

I run a skimmer rated for a 160 on my 75, but I will most likely have a heavy bio load, and I usually over feed.
