I just bought on ebay a jebo 13w uv light with pump ... i have it on a 46 gallon bow front tank ... and only a couple of clown fish and 3 small frags... and a few pecies of live rock.... :-/

just wanted to know if i should run the uv light with pump 24/7 or should i set it up with the timer???

I have been running it about 12 to 8 hours a day for the last week .... and i have noticed a diffrence in water ... and the corals seem to be brighter in color...

I run it non-stop. Who told you to run for a determined set of hours? When I researched it, it would mention to run it all the time.

    Second, third, fourth that?

I do not have one. However, the reason for running 24/7 is the flow rate is so slow (to allow contact time, sort of like a microwave) that turnover for a full tank requires lots of time. In a very real sense you can never run all of the water (thus pathogens) through the UV because it follows an exponential curve. 98% is a good number, no?

Enjoy your cleaner water and brighter corals.;D
