UV Steralizer?

Way new here....where do I connect a UV steralizer at in a sump system? If I am going to build a sump that has three compartments, skimmer area, return area, and fuge area, where would I connect the UV at. :-/

 

I have mine in the skimmer section.

 

How does that work exactly? Do I hook it up to a small pump to push the water through and then where does that drain to? The UV steralizer really confusses me.

 

i have my uv light connected to my chillers output. the water is being drawn from the return pump section of my fuge since that water is being warmed by my powerful return pump. then both chiller and uv light out put goes directly to the main tank.

 

I see. So the UV light is at the end of your system prior to going back to the DT? So if I don't have a chiller, how would I hook this up at the end of a system? Do I hook the return pump up to it and then run a line to the DT? Sorry for the questions.

 

I'm in the same vote I've done alot of local info feeding and people are telling me that the sterilizer should be positioned in the baffle where the return is located in...

 

i have mine connected to the return line from my sump to the DT.

 

Craigs list is the best place IMO. Unless you are keeping fish only.
