I'm trying to seed my rock with coralline algae and I have a 9watt uv sterilizer in my canister. Was wondering if this would affect growth?

How are you seeding your rock....? I was taught to just shut your pumps off for about 2.5 hrs and take a rock with some on it and break it up into small pieces with a pair of pliers and let it fall all over the rock in the tank. That will allow time for the spores to settle on the rock before you turn the pumps back on.

    Just an FYI :)
