Hello everyone, I was given a Turbo Twist Uv sterilizer for X-mas it is the 9 watt. The box says its good for up to 125 gal. I have a 72 bowfront that has been running for about 3 1/2 months now. I have heard that there are many diff ways of setting this thing up. My plan is to pipe it in between the main pump going to the tank, hanging off the wet dry. Would this be the best place to put it? Will this thing make a big diff in my tank?

I believe you just plumb them almost anywhere, as long as the flow is in the desired range.

    BTW nice gift!

uv will kill all bacteria, good and bad. ive never used one on my reef tank. if your going to use it the directions should give the amount of flow that is needed. to much flow wont do anything and not enough flow will cook the water.

If you are going to put the UV in your return to the main tank you are going to have way too much flow for only 9 W. I would get a low gph pump and add it to your sump or run a second line from your main tank.

In a sump, put the UV before the refugium or like reef_guru said you will burn up the good not just the bad.

(I have a 24W UV in my sump.)
