    Not that I've heard of...but I'd believe it. One of my BAD LFS tries to push uV on anybody he can that walks through the door (I actually stopped going there now because of these practices).

    If you don't already have one...I wouldn't get one.

    Not really. They are built to handle UV radiation. To give you an idea of how well they can handle it, many pods live in intertidal areas where the water is only an inch deep when the tide goes out and they are subject to the hottest sun rays of the day until the tide comes back in. Even of the few that die when they go through the UV Sterilizer, they are still food for the tank.

    There's a lot of misinformation out about UV's. If you are thinking of getting one, do your research well. I personally like them. However, if I had a choice of getting a so-so UV and a so-so protein skimmer or a just a better skimmer, I would go with the better skimmer. (Assuming budget limitations are involved).
