I am going away for a week and I have very crappy lighting not much wattage, will it hurt my corals to leave the lights on for a week? I have three leather corals, a flower pot, some feather dusters, and some pollops.

just go to walmart and buy a timer that your lights can plug into and use that. it will save you from burning your corals. they need the night time to relax too much light could kill them. none at all could kill them. your damed if you do and damed if you dont but i would just go to walmart and get the timer and just set it for every day.

I agree, timers are easy to fine, cheap, and easy to use. My life was much easier after i bought some. Corals seemed happier too.

If you leave them on all the time you will have an algae outbreak when you get back.

I left mine from Fri morning to Sun evening, but when I got back in town Sun, there was algae EVERYWHERE.. it was bad. DO NOT leave your lights on for a week!! I had the stock flourescent bulb and it was still bad.. I can image that under PC lighting it would be worse.
