Still battling cyno. I'm going away for about 5 days. Is this a good chance to leave the MH lighting off and just let the room lighting give its but of light for those days so the fish can see?
I brushed and pulled most of it out yesterday and the lights are off.

I don't believe cyto needs light to grow (well in my case) It's more to do with nit, sil and phos.

My issue was over feeding when I had 2 sun corals (sold one)

The lights out may work for hair algae, but cyano bacteria is not actually an algae...+1 to above.

The only thing that helped me with cyno is:
    1) Reducing feeding
    2) Scooping it out of the tank

Hmm. I've done this process before with success. I got as much as possible out by brushing all liverock and sandbed. The scooped out any floating with a net.. Then left lights out for a few days.
After that it was gone for a long time, but of course does come back eventually.
