I would love to hear some comments on what preparing people do when they go away on vacation for lets say a week on vacation? Besides haveing someone look after it, what else should be done?

I set up a QT tank just in case, perpare the food, call everyother day to make sure everything is fine and the most important thing is to make sure that someone who is fish sitting know what to do when any types of situation comes up.

    any other???

I feed the heck out of my fish for a week straight before I leave (so that they don't need to be fed while I'm gone) and empty the skimmer the day I leave. I have an auto-top off so the only thing I need people to come by for is to make sure everything is running properly.

I just have someone come in once a day to check for issues and top off. I premeasure RO/DI water into 1 liter containers, and have my reef sitter put in 1 liter per day. Not as good as doing it myself, but it works well enough to not have to worry about it while I am gone. :)
