I am making up water for my neighbor to put in every night. I usually do kalkwaser i the water and I also do a 2 part alk and cal every night. I am not having my neighbor do the 2 part just the water. Can I still add the kalk in all 10 separate jugs of water tongiht for all 10 days. Can kalk sit in water if its mixed well for upto 10 days in advance?
    Thanks

+1 on the above... unless you add some vinegar or other source of highly dissociating acid. ;)

the vinegar will cause the kalk to stay in solution longer instead of precipitating because it changes the equilibrium point and it makes the kalk want to be liquid form instead of solid form

Adding vinegar to the kalk mix would be a bad idea I think. You can dose vinegar, sugar, or vodka - they all do the same thing. Adding vinegar to the kalk mix would be introducing a carbon source to the tank which can be quite disastrous if not dosed properly.

One says to add vinegar to the water with the kalk mixed and someone else not to add it unless you know how much to add.

sorry should have been more clear... the amount of vinegar needed is really minimal, it wont have enough effect on the carbon consuming bacteria to create a bloom.

Only a few mL of vinegar per gallon

I have no vinegar in the house and all the stores are closed tonight. I am going to leave out the 2 part alk and cal and I wrote a note if she can just add a capful of each every night
