Vandals strike aquarium store killing fish, costly coral

Didn't they have security cameras? This is felony level value.

 

I think about how much I spent on my tank and it is nowhere near full as a store display would be. Costs more than some new cars out there to maintain and build tanks like that. The public will most likely gloss over it and not really care because the average person doesn't know how much money goes into a well equipped and maintained reef tank. Truly sad.

 

my lfs had someone bury penny s in the sand once too. They thought it was a rival store and found them rather quickly. Theyve had people steal power heads out of thier tanks too.... crazy. I don't even try to get lower prices on fish or corals.

 

yikes, sounds like an inside job. possibly to grab some insurance money?

I would rule out the conspiract theories in favor of college kids being morons. This happens once or twice a year and they are usually whos caught. Wasnt it dallas last someone someone dumped powdered chlorine in tanks?

Catch them and in my book an eye for an eye...idiots.

 

Insurance companies do not cover livestock so I doubt they did it themselves.

 

If you watch the video you will notice they have recently invested alot of time and money towards internet sales and distribution. You dont throw that kind of money in your business then kill off the brood stock.
