I have not had everything running together yet. I have it on a 20 amp breaker. I did the load calculation and it is going to be close. I did not put the lights on the switches because they run on timers. Since the timers have an on off switch I felt that it would be redundant to have another switch. But I only did this with the halides since they need to have a true power with no fluxuation.

Here is what will be on the switch board:

    Sump light
    JBJ auto top off
    sump pump
    closed loop pump
    actinic lights
    moon lights
    fan for ballasts
two fans for blowing over the water.
Then extra spots to hook up equipment when I do water changes.

I am hoping to start the cycle this weekend. Then it is up to the tank god to complete the cycle for the fish to go into their new home. I'm in no rush but I hope it completes the cycle in about 4-6 weeks.

We are so close to the end! I put my sand in today. For what it is worth they ordered live sand instead of the dry sand. No additional cost to me ;D. I have already put 120 gallons into the tank and it looks like i have so much more to go. I think I will have the water at the right level around Sunday.

So I have never cycled a tank with live sand what should I expect? My rock was all dry dry with the exception of the live rock I will place in the tank after it cycles. Should the cycle be faster? Either way I don't care i don't ever rush my tank.

I have cycled 2 tanks. Both times I made the salt water, added the live sand, the live rock, and a fish all just a couple days apart from each other and had good luck both times. I waited about 6 weeks to start adding livestock. Funny thing, the Yellow Watchman Goby that I used to cycle my first tank about three years ago is still with me today...

I could be wrong, but it is ok to put the live rock in the tank before or during a cycle??

I'll let someone else answer the question about adding live rock. I am not sure but I'm moving in my live rock after the cycle.

What are you using to cycle, just your live sand or have you added anything?
