I bought this fish because I liked the color pattern- black, blue highlights and the white stripe. Didn't known it was gonna be a PITA!!!

I feed the whole tank everyother day and in-between I see him picking at everything!! He took a polyp tip off my elegance the other day and kept putting it in it's mouth then spitting out, the moron!! Is he that dang hungry? Picks on my acans and Mille too now and then. Should I get rid of him? Gonna be hell get him out. He's not causing any real damage to the corals yet but I'd rather they be open all day than be closed for half of it because that fish is a retard!

I know how you feel. Honestly I just got rid of mine yesterday! I got him when he was under 1". Had him for about 6months no problems. Then he hit about 2" and he picked at everything.

I was wondering where all my xenias were going until I saw him pick at them. And he was picking at some SPS.

I caught him and gave him to a friend yesterday.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Sounds like he may be a canidate for eating pest (flatworms) and pods.If he is not harming the corals I would leave him. Plus he might prove a challange to catch.

I owned one for a short time and it was the meanest fish i have ever had.I banished him to a 29 that i was selling(let that guy deal with him!;D),but i caught him ripping branches off of a kenya tree,he constantly fought with the other fish in the tank and nipped at corals.I think they are a very cool looking damsel, but i'll never own another.

I'll probably leave him for a bit. He's only about 1 1/2" and well fed he still likes to nip. Oh well, maybe I'll get something that can nip on him!! J/k

Funny I was just about to ask if anyone had any ideas about capture!

I'm getting a clam in two weeks and definitely don't want him nipping at that so the fish has to go. Can you explain the inverted bottle trick? I was thinking of some bloodworms in a glass and then netting the other end once he took the bait, assuming he does that is! He's always hungry!

Thanks! LOL!! I had cats once upon time. The fatest one managed to submarine the hood on my tank while I was at work one day. It killed my Iritan piranha!!

depending on his size get a 2 or 3 liter bottle (the fish needs to be able to swim into the open portion).cut the top off ( so u have a funnel looking piece) turn that part upside down and slide it back into the bottle.so the fish can swim in easily but hard to get out. put some food in the bottle and stick it in the tank.mabe a piece of rock to hold it down then just wait it out
