My prop tank is ran by LED only, all types of corals have grown, healed and colored up very nicely under the LEDs. The only downfall is cost. Check my youtube channel for video!

My Cree LED kit is scheduled for delivery on Friday so hopefully I can post some before and after shots. Everything I have read and seen shows LED's can grow corals while maintaining color (CREE).

I think LED's have a little way to go still but the benefits are amazing to our hobby and I can not wait to see them in action :)

Are you doing a DIY kit or is this a retrofit? I am looking around to see where I can get a DIY style kit that uses Cree which will allow me to dim. I am terrible at electrical stuff and dont want to spend the money to get all the supplies together just to realize I cant do it. From what I have read the thing that is keeping me from DIYing are the fact you need a press drill and you need to know how to solder.

No I purchased the kit and a new canopy from Nanotuners. They do not have the CREE 4.6 on their website but it is available. Nice thing about ordering from Nano is that the install is free for those of us who do not like being electrocuted :)

The best thing about direct current is that it will hold you there rather than throwing you away like alternating current. Kinda like touching a wrench to both battery terminals. That will wake you up.

Try cutting into 220 with a wall saw sometime :).
