Well before my current job I worked as a vet tech for 11 yrs,a simple blood test will show nothing,I will not explain what they need to do.BUT they will NOT do it to otis.otis is just under observation thats all..silly law(red tape by health dept)

I am very sorry for what are you are going through,it is a very tough thing.did the vet check his vision.animals can act different(almost like you explained) when blindness occurs sudenly and sometimes it goes unchecked...have no worries im sure the tech`s there are making him comfortable, I know we did when we had animals under observation...
If you have any questions about anything feel free to ask away...again sorry for you and otis...

Thank you! I used to work at a vets about 16 years ago and I know what they do sadly! Was shocked one day when I opened up the fridge  so I was glad to hear they did not do that

The techs there are great. I brought him his "teddy bear" named Baby Lydia....long story with the name! and they let him have it.

I am going to call the place today and see how he is doing. I also have to make the decision as to what to do with him. I really really really want to bring him home but am fearful of him injuring somebody or something. But then I think...well maybe he will be fine!

You would think that during this week I could make a decision....but I cant!

I know it's easy to say than do, but keep your head up. I feel your pain I've lost my pit a few years back and still think about her today.

At least he'll go with his teddy, you, and blissful unawareness at his aid. Getting a dog is one of the best feelings in the world. Having to say goodbye to a dog that's spent its life with you is one of the worst feelings in the world. We just gotta roll with the great and the not so great :(
