very confused

on the new aquarium show Tanked when they set up the tanks for their clients the add all the fish right after. Most people say that you have to wait to your tank is established or add them slowly week by week. how do they Tanked crew add their fish imediatlly

 

They aren't showing all the process. The editing is done in such a way to make it look faster than it is.. That said. It's still to fast. They are not showing what all is done to make it possible. They are using pre cycled media and large wet/dry filters. That show is for TV, not for learning anything about setting up real aquariums.

Take your time and you will see much better results.

 

Yeah, they just splice everything together. Not an actual representation of the process and/or time involved.

 

If you listen carefully many times they do say "after acclimating" the fish. I've heard it several times

 

and also it dosent hurt that most of the tanks they do have huge water volume that allow the unwanted/harmful chemicals to dilute into such a low concentration that wont affect the fish much.

 

it is a good show tho

 

this is the exact reason why a lot of fish are going to die from people watching this show.

I completely agree, this post wasnt towards the OP, but all those that will never join here and ask questions is whom I'm referring to.

 

understand. i agree. 3reef has seen its share of "tanked" threads though. hopefully this doesnt turn into one of those lol
