Hi guys I have a question about my alkalinity levels in a 34 gallon red sea max 130d. These were my levels.
    Alkalinity:18 dkh
    Calcium: 400
    Ammonia: 0
    Nitrite:0
    Nitrate:0
    pH:8.2
    Salinity:1.025
    Temperature:78.1
We raised the temp because our flame angel has a small case of ich
My question is how to lower the alkalinity to the desirable levels and how will the high alkalinity affect the corals in my tank.
Which are a kenya tree, some zoos, a monti cap, a colony of candy cane coral, and a hammer coral.
    Thanks

The high alkalinity could burn the corals. I would do a 50% water change to help bring the alkalinity down.

Mind if I ask what your dosing your tank with to have such a high reading?

I would also consider double checking that reading...hobby test kits can be off...I always like to get a second opinion on readings that are way high or way low. I know people who have nuked tanks trying to fix a problem that didn't exist due to a bad test kit.

I am dosing it with iodine twice a week and whenever the calcium was low I used a calcium supplement also I used the red sea max test kit and the Api test kit and they both had similar readings. I was using ich attack because my flame angel had ich so I had to remove the carbon filtration and turn off the protein skimmer. Could that have anyhting to do with it.

Is your calcium supplement a 2 part solution? What's the brand and name of it?

yes it is a part two its name is B-Ionic and we have only been putting in the second part because the first part is alkalinity and it has been high at about 15 dkh but today it spiked.
