Hey everyone this is very important. This type of cpr is easier, more effective, and does not involve mouth to mouth breathing.

    This is a must see.

    thanks, BJ.

Everyone should know CPR and general first aid. However, one problem with CPR is you can easily break ribs. These broken ribs can puncture the lungs. While most people would be grateful for saving them, others will sue you. The only way to not get sued is by being given permission. Odds are that if they need CPR they can't give you permission. We live in a messed up world.

due to good Samaritan laws you can not be sued for trying to save a life.

if you did not help they would be dead. Broken rib is better than dead any day.

When I was certified, we were warned about being sued by an idiot who thought they could make some money.

I would to. Problem is some people are idiots and will still try it to make a quick buck.

Yeah, if they are unresponsive though there is implied consent.

And you can bet theres a fat cat attorney just waiting to take their case! But,i couldn't not do anything,so they could sue me if they wanted, but you can't draw blood from a turnip.;) I was trained/certified in advanced lifesaving when i was a life guard at the city pool(many, many years ago)but one of the things they taught us was to be careful of legal ramifications in preforming certain proceedures including cpr.::) I personally would thank you for breaking some ribs if you saved my life.:cheesy:

Good post. CPR is dead. ALL agencies to include Red Cross will be teaching the new method (CCR) by years end.

120 Compressions per minute. No breaths. If you have multiple responders, then one person can do breathing, but is not necessary.

I was told that the reason cpr was not performed in most cases was an aversion to mouth to mouth. Hopefully this technique will catch on....and nobody gets sued.
