    I agree a Montipora would be a good start.
    Good stable water parameters and no chemical warfare with Soft corals is also important

    I have had good growth out of my three sps, monit cap, monti digata, and birdnest. All easy sps, but if you slack on the water quality its over. Just had to frag my nice monti digata into about 10 small pieces and the biggest best part is now in my daughters room, DEAD. The monti cap had bare spots all over it, and the birdnest never showed any signs of a problem. I would go with one or the other, hard or soft. Not both. Unless you don't have that many of either. Or can do weekly water changes.

    Well in my opinion it's not water volume it's just the quality. And lighting of course. You really need to make sure you don't have your corals at war.

    You can see my Monti Digitata on the right and my Monti cap on the left. And thats in my 3 gallon tank. After adding my green polyped toadstool , they have been on the decline big time. :-/
