Hi , today's Veterans Day and we wanted to
say thank you to all the veterans.

Many confuse Veterans Day with Memorial Day.

Memorial Day is the day America sets aside to honor
    America's war dead.

Veterans Day, honors all American veterans, both living
and dead. But, is mostly intended to thank LIVING
veterans for their service to our country. Today is the day
that we let veterans know that their service and sacrifices
    were, and are, deeply appreciated.

I've always enjoyed this old Budweiser commercial that
    thanks our veterans
    . Maybe you will too.

    Have a good weekend.

Veterans Day has actually been a special day for me. A couple years I was awarded an Army Commendation Medal for my service in Iraq on Veterans Day, and on a seperate Veterans Day a couple years later I was awarded a Bronze Star for my time in Afghanistan. So special Day for me on a personal level.

This year was a little more special as I was able to attend a ceremony where a Vietnam Vet donated his Silver Star to the muesem for future generations to see. To be awarded the Silver Star in and of itself is a sign of true heroism, and even more so when they read the award how the gentlemen drove a bulldozer into a firefight to rescue people pinned down. Yes a bulldozer, not a armored covered vehicle like we have today.
