I'm looking at getting a 110 Watt Actinic white VHO. I just want the one bulb, I already have a compact setup that I want to keep. I just want to add the one bulb.

    What do I need?

I know I need end-caps and a reflector, but what else do I need?

How do I power it? I'm new to VHO.

Another reason I only want one, it's all that will fit in my canopy.

I'm looking to buy off foster's and smith, they are very close to me.

you will a 1 bulb vho ballast end caps, you probably won't nee a reflector as most vhos have internal reflectors in the bulb itself. you might find that a 1 bulb vho ballast is almost the same price as a 2 bulb ballast sometimes they are more expensive as they are not sold as much as 2 bulb ones.

    Thanks I'll take a look.

How many lights can you power with one ballast.

I would just switch to a dual VHO, but I would want each light to be on a different timer.

Depends on the ballast.... Some will do 1 to 4 bulbs depending on the size. You have to read the specifications for each ballast before you buy it:)
