    Yeah, dude... I'm an idiot!
I posted this same thread in RC and the very first post I got was with the same question you posted. "Are you testing with freshwater? Skimmers will do exactly that if you don't use saltwater"

After taking it off the bucket with test fresh water and dropping it in my fish tank for this last suggested test, I started bubbling up to a solid white foamy column in the reaction chamber.

I can't believe I've had this skimmer here, clean and re cleaned for more than a week burning my cranium and trying to figure out what the problem is.

My thinking was: Water is water... why spend salt on test water?

What an idiot!! I apologize for wasting all of your time, everyone. I hope this will help the next idiot now ;) No offense, but you'll know what I'm talking about if you encounter the same problem... I just can't explain the way I feel with any other word but "Idiot".

    Thanks again, guys!!!

That's insane bubbling you got there with that mod! I would keep that pump and try to find a way to stop the leak.
I don't get near as white bubbly body as the one you showed on the video. I wonder if I should take a new video to show it. Micro bubbles are crazy. I was going to test it on my tank overnight, but I really don't like the bubbles it puts out.
How close to the surface of your water line is your pump?

+ K to everyone, at least this way it wasn't an absolute waste of time ;)

Doesn't it suck when you rack your brain and you find out it's just you??? ;D

    Don't worry... you'll never be alone. ;)

I just figured you you were dropping it back in the sump and testing it. Glad it's all cleared up.

So... as far as it not working right for your brother in law... was it not producing and then we got here, or did you just take it and clean it and then you thought it was not working?

for futur reference... if it was not producing chances are there was salt in the air line and you cleaned that out when you soaked it.

It hangs on my sump so I plumed it back into my return so the bubbles come out in the sock and then have to go through the bubble trap also otherwise it just fills my tank with micro bubbles. It works great gonna install a valve on it so the red valve is not there so its more ajustable but it works pretty good right now atleast until I can talk the loan officer (My Wife) into getting another one. As for the pump its sitting on the bottom of the sump so maybe 6inches from the intake pipe. With this pump I noticed it sits at Idle alot so think thats a good thing!

Some times the "loan officers" can slow things down pretty much, can't they? ;)
