Just a little vid of the freshwater otters from our recent trip to the monterey bay aquarium. We will have more pics soon, but we literally took nearly 300 pics, and it's time consuming going through them all.

They look like you could just pet them but I bet they'd bite your finger off. Heck, they can chew through oyster shells.

Reminds me of one time Steve Irwin was saving a baby panda that had fallen down a steep embankment it couldn't re-climb because it was just dirt and loose rock. He almost got mauled trying to get a canvas bag over it's head.

    Cute clearly doesn't equal safe.

As I watch the otters move around and eat and be cute and furry and cuddly, I wish that I had Air Supply on in the background. Or maybe some Wham! Gosh, let me look up something for you and post it for payback..........

Oh......I found the perfect payback......here is something from my childhood that I have tried to forget about for thirty years now.

And Matt, I am sorry for posting this on your site. It was unnecessary and over the top, I know. I hope you can forgive me. Hehehehe

Good Lord, I didn't even make it through half way before I wanted to gouge my eyes out, and use them as ear plugs! Awful, also the way those two interact with each other is SUPER creepy...

actually otters are suppose to be good pets(hand raised ones dont try to pet wild ones). one show about a zoo it showd the handlers taking them for a walk on a lease for exercise.

I wouldnt doubt it. Otters are part of the same family as racooncs and ferret's, all of which people keep as pets.
Actually they reminded me a lot of ferrets. Just really big ones that love the water :)

+1 werent they "brother and sister"...

i remember seeing on the discovery channel this guy who had lived in the wilderness for some reason, i cant remember why. anyway he had a small pond lake thing like 50 feet away from his house, and somehow he ended up taking care of two baby otters for a really long time b/c there mom like bailed out on them or something. and the dude would actually go swimming and play with the little guys, it was really cool.

Yes they are. Osmond is their last name. They, as a duo, were extremely popular with the pop culture of the time. It was a horrible variety show back in the 70's that followed another variety show called "The Osmonds" which had all the brothers. Fortuantely, it was at the end of the Variety Show era (Sonny and Cher, The Smothers Brothers, The Brady Bunch Variety Hour, The Carol Burnett Show.....the list goes on). It was not the worst. The Brady Bunch Variety show took the cake. I actually liked the Carol Burnett Show.

No, don't get me wrong. Otters are like Little House on the Prairie to me. A guilty pleasure. If there are otters, I am there. Especially feeding time. Twice daily at 11AM and 4:00PM at our aquarium in Seattle last time I checked. It's worth having memorized.

It just gave me an excuse to dig up the grossest video I could find "in retaliation".;D;D;D
