I forget where I came across it, but one of the many articles I've read about kalkwasser said to use vinegar to bind the carbon that would otherwise form CO2. The article also mentioned using the sediment remaining to make more kalk. Using this method, making additional batches, is more vinegar added ?
The precipitation is calcium carbonate, right? Is adding more vinegar necessary, or is that 'binding' process completed from the first mixing?:-/
    Thanks

Vinegar is added to lower the ph in kalk, but I wouldnt add vinegar if I where you.

Dosing Kalkwasser which has a pH value around 12 to a tank that has high pH can be detrimental. Likewise, a tank with a low pH can be raised through the use of Kalkwasser due to it high pH property. Dosing Kalk with vinegar is good especially during the day time as pH values tend to be higher due to the photosynthesis that is taking place with the lights on. At night time, pH levels will fall due to Photosynthesis ceasing as a result of the lights turned off.
Vinegar lowers the pH associated with the Kalkwasser solution as Luna stated.
