Hey, so I got a adapter to connect some Vinyl tubing to my return line, but the adapter plug barely fits even though saying they are the right size. The adapter looks something like this:
    Flexible Tubing Adapters

I got the tubing over the first lip and onto the second one a bit but I feel like its not connected well enough. Does anyone have experience with this and whether or not it will hold well enough? I was told not to use any pcv cement on this adapter and just rely on the connection but I feel like its quite the risk. I tested out the tube and return pcv line outside and there was no leaking but I only ran it for 5 minutes with the pump out of a 5 gallon bucket. Now I'm debating if I should just scrap the PCV return and do a full vinyl tube line up to the tank, then fix an adapter to there to spray the water into the tank properly. Less parts usually = less trouble but it may not look as nice.

Anyone have any good advice on a return line that starts out as vinyl? I have a Eheim 1250 pump for my return, I'm not aware of any connectors I could use straight from the pump to the tank and avoid vinyl all together but if there is I would certainly use that. I'll take some pics if necessary Thanks!

Put a pot of water on the stove. Boil it. Dip the end of the flexible tubing in the water for a short bit. Using towels to protect your hand from getting burned, shove the tube onto the hose nib.

I just used a peice of pvc and jamed it into the tubing and used a couple zip ties to hold it tight. If you are using a barbed fitting you can try some soap or something to push it on just be sure to rinse really well. Or you can try heating the vynil tubing with a small torch I do this all the time on cars and boats to get it on.

    Best of luck.

Works perfect every time. Will be a super tight fitting, but a clamp is still recommended.
