Not sure if this is the place to post this - moderators will move if not.

Every time I click on pic links to i30.photobucket.com, Norton pops up with a warning that the WEB Site is unsafe. I have included a link to Norton's description of the issue below.

Norton Safe Web, from Symantec - report for i30.photobucket.com

Question is - should users who post links to this site be allowed to?

All that reports says is that a single user on that server has a single picture that's infected. Hardly a reason to ban Photobucket outright, or even to give you a warning (IMO, Norton is overreacting).

Breakdown of meanings of each section of the address:
protocol://server.website.TLD/userspace/unknown (I don't know what this section means; maybe node within the cluster?)/username/imagefile

BTW, about that "i30" part, the individual server at Photobucket: that's a rather large number of them. My images are on s1032.

No real reason to worry, Norton isn't the greatest internet security platform. The i30 part is just a partition of the site of a whole. It could be a server but most likely just a partition of the Photobucket site. I wouldn't worry about anything, the picture itself won't kill ya :)

I pointed out that it was a server because a site the size of photobucket, which itself is part of Yahoo, is likely on a server farm somewhere. It's also fairly likely that they keep any given user's images on the same machine in the rack because when one is accessed, there's a high probability that the rest are getting accessed around the same time.
