Has anyone seen a coralation between vodka dosing and a drop in ph..? I have a reef tank with sps lps and fish that has been established for 3 years... I just moved and in the prcess of moving I decided to go bare bottom in the new setup... got everything moved successfully and to keep the nitrates down since I now have an absense of a dsb, decided to start vodka dozing... nitrate are 0 but now my ph is 7.8 dkh 11 calcium 480 sal 1.023

Carbon Dosing does drop PH from my reading. The bacteria use oxygen, which cause the drop. Someone else with more experience may have more info. Do some research on the subject, lots out there...good and bad.
