    Hi,

I tried both methods and while using the Vodka I noticed that my cup coral and Sun coral where not opening any more after three days of dosing. After a week I switched to Brightwell Reef BioFuel and those two corals starts to open again.

My nitrate was at 20 before starting to dose, and after using both methods it is still at 20:confused: It's not that I am keeping sps or difficult corals that requires very low NO3, but I just wanted to give it a try.

Did anyone of you used one of these methods successfully? and how long did it take for the NO3 to go down?

    Thanks

I dosed vodka, it took I believe 8+ weeks to get it down to 0 nitrates. once I got it down, I put some cheato/mangroves in sump and its pretty much stayed down 0-5ppm without dosing vodka anymore..
