    Agreed, if that doesn't help your nitrates and phosphates then consider more risky things.

    You need to see where your phosphates are at though so you have a starting line

    Your nitrates aren't bad at all, and you don't know where your phosphates are, why don't you look into a GFO reactor from BRS first? Are you already dosing two part? Do you have corals?

    Sorry, just saw that in your sig. The reason I ask is because vodka dosing is a few steps beyond where you are. You would be better served by establishing a two part dosing regimen and running GFO than going straight to vodka dosing. By your nitrate reading, I assume that you are using RODI, correct?

    I am hoping that you know that the S in LPS stands for stony. Stony is referring to a skeleton, a skeleton that needs calcium to grow and remain healthy. While LPS corals deplete calcium at a much slower rate, they still need it. Most times this can be done with simple water changes where the new salt adds the minerals, but in many cases people add calcium to their tanks. I have LPS only and require dosing to some extent. I use Kent Tech CB to maintain my levels.
