I know there are some on here that dose or have dosed vodka, I have also heard that people have switched from dosing vodka to running Biopellets. I personally run Biopellets and it has worked great for me. Hopefully a vodka doser or previous doser will chime in for you.

Bio pellets are a form of carbon dosing, just like vinegar, vodka, and sugar. Carbon dosing isnt normally recommended for beginners as it can cause a lot of issues. I recommend you do a ton of research.

I started vodka dosing, I dose everything manually. I also dose as if my tank is a 25 gallon so i dont run into any issues of over dosing. Still getting to the point of my maintenance dose, i only started a couple weeks ago.

if the tank is new then I would find some other means of reducing phosphates/nitrates.

do you know your parameters? Are you using RO/DI water?
