My lionfish has been hiding behind my live rock in somewhat of a cave and he has been there now for 4 days and is refusing food if offered with a feeding stick (usualy eats "by hand"). I have had him for about 2 months, he is about 6 inches long and up untill now has had a very healthy apitite, eats daily. He has ate mainly enriched krill and been growing very well displaying normal lionfish behavior great colors no sign of sickness. I don't know if i should be worried cause some say they feed there lionfish weekly but others say every day. Any advice would be greatly appriciated

Try feeding something else. Back in my lionfish days this EXACT same thing happened to me. I had been feeding silversides and one day he just wasn't gonna have it. So after a few days i tried krill and he was back to eating out of my hand in no time. I guess they just get bored. I would want something different after a while too! Hope this helps.

Thanks Ian. I"ll try switching it up
Water is great, levels are good 2. All other fish are perfect and he looks great except the eating thing.

+1 for switching it up. We alternate krill and silversides and we have no problem, he is pretty much ALWAYS hungry. We figure he's grown at least three inches in the last two months. He definitely spends a lot more time hiding now than when we first got him, he used to come right up to me every time I walked in the room and now he mostly ignores us, lol.
