So, I just went to my volunteer orientation today at the Camden Aquarium and I am pretty sure it is going to be absolutely awesome!

I'm kind of bummed that I will be helping with the jellyfish exhibits, but supposedly they rotate people around. I would love to get my scuba cert and start volunteer diving.

They have a 700,000 gallon "ocean realm" tank with great hammerheads, sea turtles, rays, etc. where people get to volunteer to do shows/ clean the tank.

Anybody else work/ volunteer at an aquarium?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
This is awesome and you should be over joyed.

Getting your foot in the door is an excellent start.

My past includes volunteering and eventually working at some public and aquariums. Enjoy it and make the most of it. Most times you start out with the grunt work but stick with it and you will move up.

    Congratulations.

I was there last week. It was awesome!! The cool part of the "Ocean Realm" exhibit is that all of the fish inside of that tank were caught off of the Jersey Shore. Good luck with everything!

Thanks! I think it will be a lot of fun. At one point I wanted to get into marine biology, but then ended up going along a different career path, so now I get a "second chance"
