    Hey All

Well, as I get ready to finally order a vortec...I have had another question pop up...does anyone use one on a painted tank? I paint the back and sides of my tanks...I use Red Devil enamel to do that. Any concerns with having that on there - so really you have the wet side then glass then a thin coat of paint then the dry side of the vortec.

Only issue with it, is that it makes it tough to properly align the two sides. You have to do it all by sound.

No issues at all, expect for this:
Although I do it much more by feel than by sound. Feeling the levels of vibration are easy with a hand on the wet side.

okay thanks. Any impact with Heat? Was not sure how hot the vortec got on the outside and if it would cause issues with the paint?

Not hot enough to worry about. If the paint melts, you've got a fire and bigger worries. ;) :p
