    Pros:

One is enough in most cases. (ie. I have one MP40esw in a 75 and one MP10es in a 20)
    Low profile
Multi function programmability w/ fine tuning speed
12v = battery back up capability
Interface with many aquarium controllers such as Apex etc.
Replacement parts outside of the assembled wet or dry side are relatively inexpensive and sold right on the EcoTech site.
    EcoTech customer service is outstanding

    Cons

    Cost
Can be noisy. One of mine is dead silent the other sounds like a jet in the far distance winding up for take off.
Wet side replacement is about 1/3 the cost.
Wet side gears are plastic. A single snail gets inside and your wet side is stripped.
Dry side is moisture resistant, rust and corrosion is a possibility if in a humid environment.

You do know that koralia makes a 12V pump that is specifically meant to be used with the hydor/korallia wavemaker right?

BUT they are super expensive and for that kinda money you are much better off buying a vortech pump, plus you get WAY more options with the vortech than the 12v korlalia's

I was on the fence between a tune 6105 and a mp40, I went with the mp40 and the second I turned it on I knew I made the right choice. The undertow it produces is incredible

i had a mp40 and sold it and went back to hydor powerheads.
    IMO
    Cons
Noise. even if perfectly alligned they still are quite loud.
    Price.
You really need 2 for them to work together to get the full effect.

    Pros.
    Low profile in tank.
    No heat added to tank.

I did like my MP40 but you really need 2 of them to get there full potential. plus after a week or so i got bored with all the settings. Thought it would be cool, but lost its thrill quicky. i went back to hydor powerheads and i enjoyed going back. dont miss my mp40 at all. i get better flow currently and absolutely no noise. although if i added another mp40 when i had my current one im sure i would have been just as happy.
IMO overpriced for what they are.

Worth every penny. I'm about to buy another MP40 to take advantage of the wireless communication.

I underestimated the hype, but the first time I powered it up ... it stirred up so much junk and detritus that the old powerheads had let settle out I couldn't believe my eyes.

With surges and pulses and reefcrest mode, I get a beautiful sway with my torches and hammers thats almost therapeutic. I love it so much.

The noise thing is a real issue for some though. I run mine at about 70% so you don't really hear it at all. But if I power it up to 100% and run a short pulse, its quite loud.

I'm getting the second so that I can do awesome pulses and waves at 70% and lower so that its dead silent.
