hey all, looking for some advice as to where to place my vortech mp10's, i have a second on the way and looking to see where i should place them and in what modes that will work the best and eliminate all dead spots.

here is a pic of the tank aquascape, and im thinking of running reef crest in anti sync mode, any thoughts?

I think the mode will be great. I would place the pumps 4" below the water level or a little farther and about the middle of each side wall.

That's what I was thinking the only thing is that there is no opening of water there it would be hitting rocks on both sides about halfway into the tank, the only place the is open water is the front part of the tank which is what vortech says to place their pumps in open water.. but both in front I feel I will still get dead spots in the back of tank

I would probably run them on opposite sidewalls halfway or lower.;) If you are afraid of the rocks interfering you could run one side slightly to the front and the other side slightly to the back.

how come would run them lower than halfway? most tanks ive seen they run them on the upper half of the glass as to not mess with the sand and get some water agitation at the surface

Run them like Vortech says. Run one in front and one in back and see how it goes.

If you are using a sump with overflow/skimmer gas exchange is not a huge concern. Guess it just depends on what you want to do with them. IME two PH's are usually not enough to eliminate all dead spots and aerate the tank at the same time but I have never had MP's before so it may be possible to accomplish both at once because of their power. I just think because you will have alot of control with the MP's it would be better to have those as the main current that sways my corals and use the return pump from your sump or external filter to aerate the surface.;)
