So for basically the same amount of money as one MP 10 I can get two new Koralia Evo 1050s and a RKL. To me it sounds like a no brainer with all the added benefits of the controller but someone change my mind. What are the benefits of the Vortech that would make it a better choice for my money? By the way the two plans would be Vortech and lose a K4 from my tank or The new Evos and remove a K4 and a K3.

I think the MP10 would be better depending on the size of the tank you plan on using it on.

My tank the 125 with the powerheads I have I would replace one of my K4s with a mp 10 to generate a more random flow

i have the mp20 i love the different mode settings and it takes up less space. I just bought the new hyrdo evo 1050 to get even more flow so ill have the MP plus the hydro, i also went with the evo because of the smaller footprint, if i went with the original version i would have got a k3 but decided to go with the evo.

hope this helps some, just my experience

A controller for the tank is much more important than a Vortech IMO. You will get a lot more return on your investment from a controller. Having good timers and a good temp probe to protect yourself from cheap heaters failing, as well as having the option for a pH probe, is invaluable.
I love Vortechs and own several but they are a bit of a luxury, you can definitely get by with Koralias, a controller is mandatory IMO.
