I learned that the hard way. I am also interested to see how different positioning affects flow. Like having them off centre, higher or lower. I do know when I put mine to high they created like a tornado that sucked in air which the coral and fish did not appreciate lol.

So would I be better with multiple mp10s or would an mp40 be the best option for my aquarium? You can see my tank in my signature with many FTS. I would place an mp 40 in the upper right corner where the koralia 750 is and maybe down the line an mp10 somewhere. Would the mp40 be too strong there where I would be better off with an mp10?

I would go for 2 x MP10 and not an MP40, you would probably have issues controlling the flow with something that big. 2 x MP10 will be enough for everything you want to do including SPS.

Was measuring the thickness of my glass on my 29g tall, to see if I needed to use the rubber space. Strange, but I noticed my side glass panels are about 1/8-3/16" while the longer 30" wide front and back panels are 1/4". Putting my mp10 on the left side panel so I'll be using the spacer I think.

All installed. Loving it! Anyway, quick question for everyone:

How much do you think the filter booty restricts the flow?

I recently had a small green chromis die sucked to the side of my old circ pump so I installed my mp10 today, with the spacer pad, but also I added the filter sock that it came with for the intake sides to help prevent that from happening again. Anyone think this puts much lag on the pumps capabilities?

I used to run them, but they were getting dirty too quick. I haven't ran any for year and half now with no issues. No fish/shrimp ever got sucked in.

At the same time, I did have a dwarf cerith snail get in once or twice and lockup the pump. With two pumps it's not an issue, but with one, you would not want that to happen at night unless you have other sources of flow.

My sebae anemone is getting really big and his tentacles are now within 3..4 inches of the pump. I am planning on putting a sock back on that pump, but not the other.
