The magnet of my MP40 is not holding the powerhead together while the MP is operating, but when I unplug the MP then the two halves hold together no problem.

Anyone had this happen? What can I do to fix this?

There is too much drag. If you call Vortech, they will tell you you need a new bearing. It is free under waranty, or $15. At this point there is nothing you can do. Always good to have some spare parts on hand.

what speed do you have it on... if anything you can try and turn it down and see if it stays together. I only had this problem once and as usual they took care of it very quickly.

They will send you a new wet side without the cage... so then you put your cage on it and go... but they will want the old bearing back and they send you an envelope to send it back... so then you are left with a wet side without the bearing and gage.

Seriously... when you do this... just fork out the money for a new bearing and cage... it's only like $50... tell them to send them with the other parts(saves shipping)... but then you have a brand new spare wet side. You take off your old one and soak it and put on the spare. Clean it up and keep rotating. If a bearing goes bad again you are not without till the new one gets there. It's nice having a spare.

I did try turning it down and it still fell apart.

Thanks for all the helpful information! I really appreciate it.
