Hello everyone. Using two Vortech pumps on my tank. My main question is the night mode. When you put the master in night mode the pumps do not stay in the mode they were in which should be a percentage of what is programmed. They resort to about a 40 percent constant speed. Is that correct?

Also has anyone used the TSM mode with just the two pumps?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hmm... Night mode?

Yes, the ocean has peaks and lulls in activity, but it's not a day/night thing, it's a twice-per-day thing (sometimes four), and the timing varies from one day to the next. :D

Interesting read. Makes me wonder if there's a way to program the Vortec in combination with the Apex to create a more natural tidal cycle within the tank.

Maybe somehow use the seasonal tables combine with the OSC commands to create the 24hr + 50min tidal cycle combined with intensity variations

Thanks for the reply. I set night mode while in Reef Crest. Once night mode initiates it goes into a constant speed mode at the set reduced speed. I would figure that if in Reef Crest during the day, or any other daytime setting, it would then go into a (Night Mode Reef Crest in this case) with the set reduced speed.:-/

Makes one wonder if also the pressure of the water from increased depth may also have an effect. Guess if you had a deep enough tank you could raise and lower the water level.:loco: Just thinking.:dozey:

Thanks. May I ask if this is what you have experienced?

From what I've read from Ecotech Marine, Night Mode is a stand-alone operational setting. IOW, regardless what mode you run otherwise, when switched to Night Mode, the pump resorts to the same constant speed.

Ok, I see what you're saying. Yes in my experience night mode is one speed throughout the night. You can set that speed but doesn't change throughout the night. Also.. once in night mode I don't think you can change the speed or time.
