I have a 40gal breeder tank with a mp10 set to reefcrest mode. It is turned up all the way. I am noticing that the sand near the corner its pushing towards is drawing back from the corner. Is there anyway to prevent this besides the obvious, turning the pump down. I was thinking that moving the power head would work, but thats a last resort. its also causing the depth of the sand to rise in areas i dont want.

Wish I could offer some new advice, but I believe you've answered your own question, Crusty. :)

What kind of sand do you have? I'm using the mp10 also I have it a little higher on my side wall and there is still incredible flow fromm it. also I'm using caribsea aragonite and it just barely moves the top of the sand

i have very fine, black sand. It does not get blown around at all, it just slowly is building up, away from the corner. I might try moving my vortech? Except i dont think sps like to be directly hit by a power head. Does anyone have any sps that are doing well in the direct line of flow of a Vortech pump?

You can get some Reef floor special grade sand, or that sand from Petco that comes in like a 10 or 5 lb back. It's large, and wont get blown away, just pour over the areas it wont get blown around.
