    the noises they make are way more abundant on short pulse mode over something like reef crest or lagoon.

    I have heard the 40's make less noise since they dont have to push as hard which makes sense with the larger impeller. I have a 40 gallon and iim going with the 40 run at about 50%. This way If I upgrade the vortech can move up with me, just a thought!
