waht is fuge???

I've been reading a few threads and not quite sure what a fuge is. I did a search on it and still couldnt figure it out. Could someone help me out here.

 

A refugium is basicly a filter made of some kind of macroalgae that filters the water,like in the ocean. It also keeps your ph stable b/c the macroalgae needs light to live and that light is on 24/7 or on a reverse cycle.

I am setting up a 55 gallon fuge starting this week I will try to get pictures as I go through it and show them.

 

I just made a fuge out of a garbage bin and a cheap desk light with a CF bulb in it. cost 34 bucks

 

A refugium is, most simply stated, a refuge. It is a place where you can keep things that would not survive in your display tank. Generally we're talking macroalgae, which can be a great nutrient exporter, but I'd encourage you to take it even further. You might be interested in checking out these articles:
