The 2 U-tubes work via siphon to get the water out of the tank and into the overflow.

You Tube will make a lot of noise, depending on what video you're watching and the volume of your speakers at the time. . But.. .

OK, seriously--U-Tubes themselves don't make noise, however any overflow, be it HOB or drilled--if improperly executed; will will be noisy.

I have heard it makes a bit of noise, but IMO, it is the best of the J tube designs. I still like the CPR overflow with the aqualifter acting as the siphon assist best. That is what I run. And don't forget......I know a lot....because I fixed a green thingy with solder and got an electronic Rock Band cymbal working (Sorry, you would have to have been there.....). What does that have to do with anything? Ya got me!!!!

I have the exact same one, but when I got mine it didn't come with 2 u tubes it came with one big one, as far as the noise its not to bad as long as you get the foam mufflers(it comes with) in correctly and keep them clean.
but as others have stated there will always be a bit of noise from HOB overflows.

I looked at the link you provided. That overflow should work.
Are you asking about the theory of how an overflow works, or just how this specific box's plumbing needs to be hooked up?

    Yep, siphon and gravity.;)

I have an Eshopps overflow as well, the PF-1000, with about 500gph going through it. Before I ever brought my tank inside, I worked with it out on the porch for a couple days, tweaking things, to get the noise to a minimum. It made quite a racket until I got things all adjusted. The U-tube itself is silent, but the standpipes gurgled, and the plumbing made a waterfall sound. It was loud even outside. At first it actually sounded like a toilet flushing!

Mine is now virtually silent, but it definitely took some fine tuning.

I have the same type(diff brand).I use the flex hose coming down with a little twist here a little turn there it makes almost zero noise.prob because it slides gently down the hose like a slide, instead of strait down hard pvc into a 90 deg and then sump or something like that...I guess the point here is you can make them quiet or noisy depending on your plumbing set up..
