Your tank should be fine for a couple days, just no feeding and everything should be good.

Ain't that the truth. My wife is slowly warming up to it. Even said that the TEKs are a possiblility now. She told me here recently she wants a Seahorse tank in the kitchen. I was floored when that came out of her mouth. While I am at it, I want pipefish in there as well. She wants to breed them as well.

seahorses have the best personality , they are very active creatures and pipefish are their bestfriends . I am interested in the sea dragons also but cant seem to find anyone to sell them .For future plans .

I ran a Aqua lifter on my 55g and never had to prime it. How far is the pump from the OF??

    Hey otty...

Its under the tank in the sump area, approx. 36" to 40" of down draw,w/ standard 1/4" tubeing.
I am not certain that it would not prime( and really should)...I just did'nt want to add the pressure of having them to adjust the dam gate valves and trying to get all that stable at 1:30 am. It was truely a great feat to have her use the pump and valves to get the water back up top and then close the system. : ) Trust me.."panic was in the air" : ) LOL
I am going to do some modifications when I return home...relocation of my power supplies ...and possibly the lifter are considerations.
    Thanx,
    LG
