Want know more

One of My friend who sold LED aquarium light. He sometimes need to call stranger clients. However, almost those clients are so unatural. My friends told me, When they heard it was promote sales, they will hang up the phone very rude. Why ? ? He asked me. I don't know too. We are sincerely, Maybe they had been cheated like these phone promote sales. They don't believe us. Or maybe they do not need . But I am still think they should not hang up the phone so quick and impolite. I want to help my friend. Cause he really a good guy. Is there anyone experienced those ? Tell me some about how to more effectively to catch their attention. Maybe next time I take that kind of job, I will manage it well.

So your friend is Telemarketing the LED? He is calling individuals and attempting to sell a product?

Your in China right?

 

Most people have had enough bad experiences with telemarketers in general to want to hang up on them all.

I was a telemarketer many years ago, but I still understand why some can't tolerate them.

It's very irritating when they call all the time and you just want to be left out of that, and most people think its a scam anyways no matter if its legit or not. You should just be happy that people don't mess with him like some people do, like as a bunch of questions about the product for about 30 minutes or so and then just say not interested and hang up and wast your time. I know some people who do that. =P

 

Before the "no call list" we'd get so many calls from people offering free stuff (tied to a purchase of course) and trying to sell all kinds of crap, before caller-id on the phone, yeah, we'd get sick of it and hang up. If a marketer would just say "ok, well thanks for listening" and hang up, that would be one thing, but the blighters would get so persistant and not take no for an answer. We'd give all kinds of excuses trying to say no nicely and they wouldn't give up, till finally we'd just say "NO THANKS" and hang up. Seems a bit rude, but I think it is much ruder to completely ignore that the prospective customer's wishes and keep yapping. After a few times of that and I get rude to anybody who's trying to sell stuff to me.

And yes, there are plenty of scams too, people get a bit burned out on phone calls.

With caller-id we just don't answer it if we don't recognize the number.

Now, though, it is all polls and politicians that we have to hang up on.

If I want to buy something, I'll go looking for it and do research about it. I really don't want strangers knocking on my door or calling me trying to sell me stuff that I'm not interested in. I used to be nice and just say no thanks, but the tactics that get used by the sales people are way more rude than just hanging up on them is. I just don't answer the phone if I don't know the number now, and put up a no soliciting sign on my door.
