well what if i jus add a wooden diffuser in a hollow bottle and attach it to container on top so the bubbles forming on top will collect in the container which can be removed and cleaned, i have two mini waer bottles that u get on a plane. will tht work cos mine is just two gallon.
    checkout this image i made....

hey nanomania! Well, for a 2 gallon tank, you wouldn't really need a skimmer, your water changes will be the best type of skimmer and filter! I know people who used skimmers on their picos, but they said it was ineffective.

That type of design would work... another easy design would be to do something like the Remora skimmer - with right angles it would not be too hard to do something similar - but an in-tank deal. Plus I think it would be more effective with an air-stone. :) How much room to you have? That is the challenging part...

I agree with Matt on the design but I agree more with haloist on the w/c. Changing out just 4 cups of water a week would be plenty enough filtration for that, even with the fish. Which IMHO have no business being in there to begin with but hey, it's not my tank. Good luck with what ever you do.
