    Coralline algae will not grow any faster with the additives like purple-up. Just keep the normal calcium, alk, magnesium up and all will be good. Purple up is a marketing gimmick that preys on new reefers. If you're referring to "additives" as calcium, alk, magnesium and maybe trace elements you probably won't need those for a while. They'll remain fairly stable with water changes if you don't have a sizable coral load that soaks up these elements.
