I took a new approach and tried convincing her on the 180 so that she eventually agreed on the 120. Worked like a charm. Lol. So now I will be looking for a 120.

Another question I have is about the bottom pane of glass. Is that tempered on most tanks? If I drill the bottom for the drain and return where do I get the "overflow cover"? Thanks for the help do far everybody

    Outstanding!

The bottom on most 120s is not tempered. As for finding the overflow itself, there are a number of places you can find one online. However, I'd look long and hard for a used reef-ready tank so you don't have to risk it.

Additionally, look for an Oceanic Tech 120 - I have one sitting in my garage and it is a great tank (mid-tank overflow).

"You could also throw in that the 120 will have better resale value, but that's stretching it a bit... :)"

i actually use this excuse quite often when getting new equipment..."but dear when (say when not if...trust me it helps) i sell the tank this will make it more valuable!!!" he thinks ill be selling the 120 when i upgrade again...little does he know i plan on keeping it and setting up either another saltwater (FOWLR maybe?) or a feshwater cichlid tank muahahaha
